You’ve accepted your offer to study at UC Sheffield, what happens next? 

Congratulations on getting your results and accepting your place to study at UC Sheffield! If you’re wondering what happens next, here’s a few tips for getting ready to start with us in September! 

 

1. Complete your pre-enrolment information 

Once your place has been confirmed on UCAS (or by our Admissions Team if you applied directly) we’ll send you a link to our online registration portal so you can begin filling in some key details – this is the start of your official enrolment at UC Sheffield! 

 

2. Get your support in place 

Make sure you tell us about any extra support you might need, whether that’s in the classroom, help with travel expenses or course supplies, or even obtaining childcare – the sooner you let us know how we can help you, the better we can get this in place for when you start in September. 

Don’t forget to apply for your student loan if needed as well!

3. Attend your enrolment appointment 

You’ll be invited into the college to attend your enrolment appointment – this is where we confirm your details, check you have met all the requirements for your chosen course and then get you logged into our system. You’ll also receive your student ID at this appointment. 

 

4. Get ahead with your course prep 

If your tutors have suggested any pre-reading or activities to complete before term starts, now is a good time to get ahead so that you can hit the ground running when you begin your course.  

 

5. Get excited about student life 

Our UC Sheffield students all get the same discounts and perks as other students, so make sure you apply for any online deals, student travel cards and more once you’ve enrolled.  

Don't forget to do your research on our sports clubs, Students’ Union and societies before you start so you can sign up at our Freshers’ Fair!
