HTQs
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) provide an exciting new opportunity for students studying at UC Sheffield.
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) are new or existing qualifications at levels 4 and 5 that offer students a route into qualified technical pathways and highly-skilled, rewarding careers.
WHAT ARE THEY
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) are new or existing qualifications at levels 4 and 5 that offer students a route into qualified technical pathways and highly-skilled, rewarding careers.
These qualifications have been developed in collaboration with businesses and employers, and approved by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education as meeting the occupational standards in the relevant industry sectors.
The skills that you will learn and the knowledge that you will acquire from a HTQ will be the ones that are required by employers in the sector you are training in, both now and in the future.
When you graduate from a HTQ, you will be ready to enter employment as a high-skilled, and sought after individual.
WHO ARE THEY FOR:
Students who want to study higher technical, employer-led qualifications
Students who want to take up highly-skilled jobs
Students progressing from T Levels, Advanced Apprenticeships or other level 3 qualifications
Employees looking to upskill and further specialise in the sector that they are already working in
WHY YOU SHOULD STUDY ONE:
Qualifications have been designed by top employers to address technical skills gaps that exist right now – these skills are going to remain in high demand so you’ll be well set for the future
After you finish, you’ll be qualified for highly-skilled, highly-paid jobs straight away
You can progress onto a Degree or Degree Apprenticeship
Quality assured and backed by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
